Having been born and brought up in the beautiful, hilly countryside of Yorkshire;I now inhabit the flat, boring fenlands of Cambridgeshire where I'm a single mum of three, all boys, two of which are now into their terrible teens - OMG!

I've been surrounded by animals all my life, from horses to mice and just about everything else in between, but far too many to list them all here. Two of which made a huge impact on my life; my beautiful mare - Margie, and my Rottweiler bitch - Jasmine. They were my best friends and we went through a lot together over the years, but unfortunately they've passed over now and I still miss them very much. I got into herps around 6 years ago while studying for a Diploma, where we were fortunate to have one of the largest educational herptile facilities in the UK, and I became totally hooked on them! Since then the furry family has been downsized considerably as the scaly and slimy family increases <g>

Most of my working life has been spent with animals; veterinary nurse, wildlife rehabilitation and, for my sins, I spent some time working in a Pets at Home (formerly Petsmart) ...  but not for very long!  I'm now about to embark on a complete career change having just enrolled to start a BSc degree in Social Policy and Criminology this summer. I'm hoping to work with young people in either a social work or criminal justice capacity.

Some of my favourite things are horses/riding, fantasy and crime fiction books/films, the occult and magick, the outdoors, good food and wines, scottish accents, wildlife and nature documentaries, thunderstorms, oh and the internet of course! Some of my pet hates are loneliness, cheats and liars, runny yolks, tr0lls and netk0ps, living with manic depression, cruelty to animals, man's destruction of the planet ... ok I'll stop there <g>
