I started with my herps as do many, many, others. A man at
a LPS told me that this little green guy was all the rage,
easy to care for, and ate lettuce. All I had to do was buy
this here set up and I was ready to go! Well, a couple of
months later and one sick iguana on my hands, I learned
the hard way. I set up correctly, educated myself on
Melissa Kaplans site and with books, and on rec.pets.herp
waaaaaay back before 1998. I started getting calls from
friends who wanted to rid themselves of an ornery biting
iguana so I took them in. Next thing I know I"m
running a semi-foster program and I have too many lizards.
I scaled down to a collared lizard (Shuki, she died in
1996) and 2 iguanas, Wizard and George. I had to let
Wizard be adopted out, he took a serious disliking
to my new infant in 1998 and I tried to get a baby ig to
replace him. I couldn't handle the two infants so a friend
adopted Teeny. I just kept George and the infant, and oh
yea, eventually got rid of the husband too. That's
pretty much it reptile wise.
