About Me: |

I
got my first herp pet (as opposed to the snakes and frogs I
used to catch as a kid) when I was 18, and quickly became
hooked. I've kept various reptiles and amphibians over
the years and in 1998 got a job as the curator of an animal
collection at a small science museum. I did that for a
few years then moved to DC and became a zookeeper at the
Baltimore Zoo's reptile house. Once I got fed up with
my commute I applied to the National Zoo's reptile
department and to grad school. I got accepted to both
in the same week. I chose grad school. Let's
hope I made the right choice...I've been suffering from
serious herp withdrawal ever since.
I'm married to an officer in the USCG and so I get to move
every two years or so. My other interests are hiking
and letterboxing, and drinking at dive bars. I'm also
a killer bartender, as that's what I do in between
"real" jobs.
