McMartinVille--Reptiles

NO NEED FOR A CAR, CLICKED YER MOUSE... AND HERE YOU ARE! "McMartinVille"

U.S. Reptile Identification

I used to have a dichotomous key online here, but I don't think anyone but diehard herpers would actually bother to use it!  Therefore, I replaced it with the following state-by-state links to reptile ID pages.

Basically, click the link for the state in which you found the reptile, and you'll probably find a match for the mystery animal.  If not, consider looking at the links for the states AROUND the state in which you found the reptile.  If THAT doesn't solve the mystery, you can always email me (anything addressed to the McMartinVille.com domain will work) with a description and preferably a pic. I'll either give you a positive ID, or forward it to someone who can!
NOTE:  If there is no link for your state, and you have a link for a reasonably-complete (i.e. not just a local/regional site, but a statewide site with more than just "the most common species" represented), please email me and I'll add it.

If you need a guide to amphibians, the Global Amphibian Assessment is an excellent tool.

AK potentially has two native snake species (both are garter snakes, Thamnophis spp. and are unconfirmed), and only occasional sea turtle visits.
